PERISCOPE
22.08. - 27.08. 2011 Košice
Motive for executing the project was the site of the project itself. Old house on Loffler st. no. 5 is a place filled with mysterious atmosphere and offers various opportunities for creative solutions. Aim of the artists is to use the material which the house offers – that is to artistically show the connection between the fate of a man and that of a house /which we understand as a live being – proudly having lived through great achievements and hiding shame and secrets into dark corners.
Essential founding to be built upon is the HOUSE itself and the images it conceives. Same goes for the concept of PERISCOPE – unclear, refracted image. Periscope is used to materialise the idea of not being able to see hidden secrets of past and future clearly. Audience will be confronted with the represantation of this fact at the final presentation. They will be able to peek into every room and space in the house but part of the artworks, the performance and the installation will be visible only through a periscopes placed all over the house. Final multimedia evening will be conducted continually in all of the house 27. 08. 2011 from 20:00 to 00:00.

In the upcoming times, we will create a performance in a public space in collaboration with international creative team of artists from Visegrad region. During the production, we are going to cooperate with Nathalie Veuillet, the director of group La Hors De from Lyon and we will let ourselves be inspired by life and work of Sandor Marai.
Next, we plan to create an original theatrical staging in premises of functionless industrial space. The play LINE will be a look into fantasy of a woman, games, restrictions, worries and fears which are everyday parts of us.
Until the year’s end we’re going to announce a competition for students and scriptwriters for the best drama text, which will be produced next year with the assistance of visiting director from Prague.
