Theatre on the Platform

The theatre “ Na peróne” was created in 2005 as an independent theatre seated in the centre of contemporary art IC Culture train in Košice. The idea of creating this theatre was only a logical shift in the creation of their founders and members: Peter Kočiš, Zuzana Psotková and Jana Wernerová. After our experiences in another theatres, state as well as independent, it seemed us as the only possible solution like not to lose all sense of the theatre itself, to create our own theatre with our own point of view and language. Since beginning of this theatre we have presented ourselves in many home as well as international events. We also have cooperated with several international projects which inspired us to make a new platform for our creation. Peronstage is an open space for the creation and cooperation at various art projects.

In our production we are trying for an innovative processing based on authorial team creation. As the authors of theatre plays we reach for new topics and broaden former Slovak theatre production. Our dream is to create authorial performances which will be interesting for our young generation by their form and contents and they will contribute to the future existence of our theatre…

We have also actively integrated into the project preparations of our town’s candidature for the European Capital of Culture 2013.We are glad that effort of all people involved was rewarded with the win. We believe this winning will bring many interesting opportunities, contacts and attractive performances to the town, creators and people themselves.
